a little late but ...... Happy Halloween

This year Eric wanted to be Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story and then I dressed Brooke up as a Black Cat. They both looked super cute and loved their Halloween costumes. GG, Pappa, Blake & Kathy came down Friday night to spend Halloween with me and the kids since Matt had to work Halloween. The kids and I had so much fun and enjoyed our family's company. I unfortunately was sick with a sore throat and had lost my voice but other then that it was a GREAT Halloween. Thanks GG and Pappa for coming! We love you so much and LOVE the visits from you guys! :)

Eric's Sport Updates!

Nothing too exciting happening in the days with the Davis fam. Eric is continuing to play sports. He finished up his 2 weeks of Soccer and then started playing Baseball for 1 week and then played football last week. He did pretty good the very first week but is kinda loosing interest in doing too much each week now and just kinda stares and does not show to much passion in the games. He plays the sports at the park so he sees the slides and swings and would much rather be playing on those then actually listening and playing sports. It is so good for him though and he does do ok. Matt and I think he might be one of the younger ones on the team since he is playing with 3 and 4 year olds, but it seams to be pretty much 4 year olds. It is fun to get out though and watch him do what he does do and I am proud of him for trying and not totally not doing it! :) Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks of Eric playing and of course his little cheerleader, Brooke! :)

Eric "walking" with the soccer ball!

Brooke getting mad and telling Eric to hurry up! :)

Eric getting ready to score a goal. (I think he was supposed to be listening to his Coach at this time)

Hey Mom, Dad & Brooke! :)Brooke holding Eric's water for him!Had to take a few pictures of this cute one too! :)Eric hitting the ball with the bat. This was his VERY first time ever with a ball and bat, and I thought he did pretty good. It was fun to watch him hit the ball.Eric slowly walking the bases. He needed a little motivation from one of the coaches.Catch time. Not so much fun Eric thought! I think he was getting bored.

I did not have my camera the last week when he played football, but nothing to exciting happened that week. So I did not feel too bad!

The last few weeks!

Grandfather & Eric about 3 years ago. Eric was about 5 months here.

I thought tonight I better sit down and try to catch up from the last couple of weeks. The biggest thing that has happened in our family lately is that my dear Grandfather passed away on the 13th of October unexpectedly. He has been in a rest home for the last little bit due to his Alzheimer's. He was put in the Hospital on the 8th due to some blood in his urine and then was getting ready to be released on Monday morning (12th) to go back to the rest home, but around noon that Monday he started having trouble breathing and was put on oxygen and went down from there. My aunt Pat called my parents and told them to hurry down to S.L.C cause Grandfather was doing very badly. They rushed down that afternoon and stayed by his side all through the long night and into the next day when he passed away that Tuesday afternoon around 1:20. He had developed Pneumonia from breathing so heavily. (you would of thought he had just finished running a marathon from how hard he was breathing, very sad) He went into a coma about 40 minutes before he passed away. It was so sad cause I have not been able to see him since Grandmother's passing away almost 2 years ago and was REALLY hoping to see him for Thanksgiving. Instead I saw him at his viewing laying in his casket. It was very emotional and hard for me to see him this way. I had not planned on seeing him this way at all just yet. I am happy though however that he is free from his pain and with his dear wife which is my Grandmother. I will miss him so much but I find so much peace and happiness knowing he is with Grandmother again forever. I love you so much Grandfather and will cherish the memories that I have spending summers with both you and Grandmother, going to your cabin in Flaming Gorge, All a dollar :), Chuck a Rama and everything else that we enjoyed together.

Grandfather and Grandmother with Eric. Again about 3 years ago. This picture was taken pretty much 1 year before Grandmother passed away.

I do not have Pictures on my camera from the funeral, but my mother has quite a few and will be coming to visit soon, so I will post some pictures when I get them from her camera. Stay tuned.......

Eric starts Jr. Sports! :)

So Monday the 28th of September, Eric started Jr. Sports. We enrolled him in a City class where he will learn the foundation of rules in Soccer, Basketball, Tee-Ball, Flag Football and Track n' Field. They started out with Soccer and will continue 1 more week and then move onto Basketball, Tee-ball etc... It is a 8 week class and they will spend 2 weeks in each sport (1 week in Basketball) just going through the different moves and rules of each sport. Eric I thought did VERY well for his VERY first time ever playing Soccer. He had me laughing pretty hard though! :) He is a character! The Coach went around the circle of boys and asked them what their names were and what they had for breakfast and instead of Eric saying what his name was he said Lucky Charms. And they said ok but what is your name and he laughed and said Lucky Charms!! He got a little confused so I helped out a little! It was cute! (Next week I will give him Wheaties before the game so he can mention that instead of Lucky Charms :) Then they did stretches to warm up and Eric did REALLY well following the directions. That was Matt's favorite part. They had them chase the Coach around a little and this is where Eric fell in last place. He was trying to figure everything out and was busy staring at the other kids. He is a little spacey sometimes! He takes after me in that area! :) He loved the part where all the cones were knocked over and they had to stand them all up. Eric REALLY enjoys organizing things and putting things back where they belong or how they belong. He is very particular about things like that. So he was definitely more interested in the cones then the actual ball. They had the kids do lots of different moves with the ball and just basically wanted to see how well they were with directions and listening. Eric did pretty good but has lots to improve on! At the end they had each kid kick the ball down to score a goal in the net and Eric had me laughing pretty hard at this point cause he would start running and kick the ball and then to make it go a little farther he would pick it up and throw it. He did this probably 3 different times and the Coach told him no hands but he did not listen too well so it was pretty funny, but he did actually score the ball in the RIGHT spot! So we were VERY proud of him! He had a great attitude and wanted to be there and really seemed to have had alot of fun! This is so good for him to start now while he is young and we just had alot of fun watching him and cheering him on!
Eric running to give his Coach a high five!
Most of the time Eric preferred standing right next to the Coaches in front of his team mates! It was cute! :)Eric learning how to trap the ball!I wanted to mention too that that night Matt and I took Eric to Sports Chalet and bought him and Matt a new Soccer Ball and some cones so that Matt and I can take him to the park right by our house and practice with him alot more. He was VERY excited about his new ball and cones!

He is such a happy fun little guy and brings so much happiness in both mine and Matt's lives :)
Here is Eric with his buddy Owen getting ready to go down to the Park to play some Soccer! :) And of course play on the slides! :)

Visitors!

We were able to spend the last weekend with Matt's parents and we all had such a great time, especially Eric! :) We had Matt's Paramedic graduation on the 25th so Matts' parents made sure they were here with us to enjoy and celebrate this special day with us. I am so happy that I actually took some pictures with Grandpa and Grandma and the kids to post here on my blog! :) Thanks again Grandpa and Grandma for coming to Visit! We love you guys! :)
